Defense Forces present Irish Flag to St Patrick's

Two members of the Irish Defense Forces presented our school with the Irish Flag as part of a nationwide program to commemorate the events of 1916 - click here to learn more about this historic event.

We gathered in our school hall, welcomed our visitors and listened to Sergent Maloney reading from the Proclamation. A boy from 6th Class helped in this activity also. The flag and a copy of the Proclamation were presented to two younger boys from our school. We all stood to attention as our school band led us in singing our national anthem, Amhrán na bhFiann.
